High-End Italian Steakhouse Concept Honors Legacy Created by Alfred Carpionato
CRANSTON, RHODE ISLAND – Carpionato Group announced today it is transitioning Chapel Grille restaurant to the Circe Group which will re-envision the venue as Circe Prime – an Italian steakhouse and banquet facility. The restaurant will be operated by two of Rhode Island’s top restauranteur’s Carlo Carlozzi and Kyle Poland, who have well established locations in downtown Providence and East Greenwich.
“All things must eventually give way to change, and with that change comes new opportunity. Now, it is time to honor the past while reimagining this beautifully restored historic building for the future,” said Sheryl Carpionato, trustee of the Carpionato Group. “In selecting Circe, we were focused on making sure the next operator was well established and successful in the Rhode Island market and would appreciate and align their vision to the beauty of this space. We believe Carlo and Kyle are the perfect stewards for this gem in our portfolio and will create a new legacy that remains true to my late husband’s vision.”
Chapel Grille will operate as normal during January under the direction of Circe Group and will operate during February and March for all private events that have already been booked. During a roughly six-week period, cosmetic enhancements will be made to the space to give it a “Circe” feel and install new signage, etc, in preparation of a Circe Prime grand opening in April.
“We are thankful for the opportunity the Carpionato Group has given us and for their belief in our brand” said Kyle Poland. “We are excited to blend our style of hospitality with the amazing venue the Carpionato Group has created” continued Carlo Carlozzi. “Our goal is to provide a memorable dining experience where our guests can not only enjoy a high-level cuisine but enjoy a fun an exciting atmosphere as well.”
All Chapel Grille gift cards will be honored through 2025 beginning when Circe Prime opens. Current Chapel Grille employees who wish to stay on under Circe Group will be afforded the opportunity to do so.
“We are thrilled to bring Circe’s well-known and established restaurant brand to Chapel View which we believe will add to the energy Carpionato is building around this signature property,” said K. MacArthur Coates, President & CEO of Carpionato Group. “We have several other exciting new restaurants on the horizon here and Circe’s Prime Italian steakhouse will be an amazing addition that will draw patrons from across Rhode Island.”
Nestled upon the hilltop along Sockanosset Cross Road, Chapel Grille was part of the former Rhode Island Training School for Boys built in the 1880’s. The building had remained vacant after the facility was closed in the 1960’s until it was purchased, reimagined and restored by Carpionato Group in the early 2000’s.
The building features 14,000 square feet of dining space, outdoor patio, two bars, and a stunning overview of the metropolitan Providence skyline.
